Our Story

Laurie with pets — founder of Critter Care

Critter Care was founded in November 1999 by Laurie, who made the leap from the entertainment industry — where she worked as an administrative assistant — to follow her true calling.

Growing up surrounded by animals — German Shepherds, Cocker Spaniels, cats, birds, and all sorts of other creatures — gave Laurie a deep, lifelong passion for caring for pets.

What started as a love for animals has grown into over 25 years of dedicated, professional pet sitting in the South Bay area of Los Angeles.

Experience & Qualifications

✓ Over 25 years of professional pet care experience

✓ Extensive work at doggy daycares in Manhattan Beach, El Segundo, and Torrance

✓ Volunteer at local animal shelters and rescue organizations

✓ Approved bottle foster feeder volunteer for City Shelters

✓ Experience at South Los Angeles and Harbor Animal Shelters

✓ Featured three times on "Good Day L.A.'s Adopt a Pet" segment

✓ Active support of many rescue organizations throughout the South Bay

With over two decades of hands-on experience, Laurie is comfortable caring for all kinds of pets and situations:

● Dog park visits & daycare services

● Overnight pet sitting in your home

● Medication administration, including subcutaneous fluids

● Pets with illnesses, disabilities, or separation anxiety

● Rescued pets who may need extra patience

● Pets with sensory impairments or special needs

Service Area

We're based in Lawndale, CA and happily serve the South Bay and South Los Angeles area, including surrounding communities. We've been a trusted part of the neighborhood since 1999.
